Google has introduced a new application dubbed “Magic Compose,” which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to assist users with text message composition. Bard, the company’s AI chatbot, has been incorporated into its messaging app. This new utility is initially available to Android users over the age of 18 in the United States in its beta form.
The Messages app’s Magic Compose feature is optimized for RCS (Rich Communication Services) conversations.
According to the company, users must enable the utility through the app’s Settings menu in order to utilize it. Once Magic Compose is enabled, users can touch the pencil icon next to the text input field to view its suggestions. These suggestions can help users initiate a conversation or rephrase their messages in various tones and styles.
The seven modes of the Magic Compose instrument are Remix, Excited, Chill, Shakespeare, Lyrical, Formal, and Short. The new tool transmits up to 20 previous messages, including emoticons, reactions, and URLs, to Google’s servers in order to generate relevant suggestions.
Google launches Magic Compose, an AI-powered text messaging product, in beta.
The company assured users that their data privacy is of the uttermost importance, and that no information is retained or utilized outside of the immediate context of making suggestions.
“When you use RCS with end-to-end encryption, no one can read eligible messages as they travel between your phone and the phone you message, including Google and third parties,” the company stated on its support page.
Moreover, the U.S.-based tech behemoth has recently launched Google Maps Street View in India, providing users with a virtual tour of the country’s cities. After being tested in Bengaluru, Karnataka, last year, the feature is now available in multiple locations across the nation.
This addition to Google Maps allows users to investigate the streets, landmarks, and iconic locations of various Indian cities without leaving their homes.
