Samsung began handing out the May 2023 security update earlier this month, and several mid-range and high-end smartphones have already received the new software.
Today, the company began distributing the Galaxy S20 May 2023 security update in certain Latin American countries.
The Galaxy S20 security update for May 2023 is now available
For 4G models, the most recent software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra includes firmware version G98xFXXSGHWD4. Firmware version G98xBXXSGHWD4 is included in the update for 5G-capable mobile phones.
The update includes the security upgrade for the month of May 2023, which addresses more than seventy vulnerabilities discovered in Galaxy smartphones, of which six were deemed critical.
The update is currently available in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay and is expected to roll out to additional Latin American markets in the coming days. In the coming weeks, the May 2023 security update for the Galaxy S20 series may become available in additional nations.
If you own a Galaxy S20 series phone in any of the above mentioned countries, you can obtain the new software by going to Settings » Software update and selecting obtain and install. You can also manually install the new firmware file using a Windows computer by downloading it from our firmware database.
